Born and raised in South Africa, Shane now calls Australia home, which explains the interesting accent. He makes homemade biltong, is a gamer, ad nerd, and proudly maintains an Uber rating of 4.89. Most importantly, he genuinely loves this industry.

As National Executive Creative Director of McCann Australia and HERO, Shane helped transform the agency into one of Australia’s most recognised creative shops, named Campaign Brief’s No.1 Mid-Sized Agency of the Year two years running, as well as the country’s top-ranked agency at the New York Festivals and MADSTARS.

Truth brought to life with craft is what steers his creative ambition. Career highlights include inviting people to #comeonin the Sydney Opera House through their Instagram selfies, launching a new Toyota by crushing it and turning it into a lab-grown diamond collection, creating a smart Christmas bauble that parents could secretly control so their kid’s would know if they were on Santa’s naughty or nice list, showing male gamers what it’s like to play as a female gamer Through Their Eyes, earning Maybelline New York their first ever Cannes Lions globally, and most recently Mastercard Transit Tales, an AI platform powered by live transit data that reimagines classic stories to fit the exact length of commuter’s trips. He also made an arcade machine for Hoegaarden beer that’s controlled by stroking a Capybara’s butt… he still can’t believe the client bought it.

His work has been recognised with over 250 local and international awards, including Golds at Cannes Lions, multiple Grand Prix at Spikes Asia, MADSTARS and The World Indie Awards, as well as recognition at D&AD, One Show, The ANDYs, New York Festivals, SXSW, AWARD and the Effies.

As a Creative LIAisons coach for 2 years running, he helps develop, educate, and inspire the next generation of emerging talent as well as guiding creative excellence on the McCann Global Creative Council and on juries for the New York Festivals, ADFEST, MADSTARS and Webby Awards.
