Shane Geffen is the National Executive Creative Director at McCann & HERO Australia.

Under his leadership, Shane has helped transform the agency into a creative hot shop, earning Campaign Brief’s No.1 Mid-Sized Agency of the Year 2023 & 2024, and #1 Australian agency at New York Festivals and MADSTARS.

His work is grounded in truth and brought to life with craft. A few career highlights include #comeonin inviting people into the Sydney Opera House through their selfies, launching a new Toyota inspired by a diamond by destroying it and turning it into a lab-grown diamond collection, showing male gamers what it’s like to play as women for Through Their Eyes, earning Maybelline New York their first ever Cannes Lions globally and a MADSTARS Grand Prix and most recently Mastercard Transit Tales, a digital experience that allows commuters to reimagines classic stories using real-time transit data and AI into audio stories that fit their trip.

It’s work like this that has earned him and his teams over 250 local and international awards, including Golds at Cannes Lions, multiple Grand Prix at Spikes Asia and MADSTARS as well as recognition at D&AD, One Show, The ANDYs, New York Festivals, SXSW, AWARD and the Effies.

As a Creative LIAisons coach for 2 years running, he helps develop, educate, and inspire the next generation of emerging talent to reach their full potential. He guides creative excellence on the McCann Global Creative Council and on juries for the New York Festivals, ADFEST, MADSTARS, Webbys and Adforum PHNX Awards.

Born and raised in South Africa, he now shares the joy of his homemade biltong with his fellow Aussies. He is a gaming and ad nerd, boasts a strange accent, and has an Uber rating of 4.89.
